Even after knowing Paul for more than 30 years, he never ceases to amaze me with his enthusiastic commitment to his students, his friends and family, and to his art. It would be an understatement to say he was a phenomenal educator as he tirelessly encouraged talented young students to find their own voice. Now retired, he has the time to spend the same enthusiasm and commitment on his own artistic journey. And that is exactly what he does. He is totally engaged in the creative process. His work is imaginative, ambitious and wonderfully crafted. It delights, amuses, and challenges us all.

I have known Paul Nilsson as an artist and an educator for the past 22 years. For many years I co-taught the Williamston Figure Study class with him. His artistic knowledge and his creative vision is legendary! As a teacher he inspired, engaged and challenged his students.
